Duplicate Ration Cards

Few step by step procedures are required when applying for a new ration card. Following steps are needed to be followed by a person interested to apply for a duplicate ration card:

  • After locating DFSC or Food and Supplies Controller of the district or IFS or Food and supplies Inspector or AFSO or Asst. Food and Supplies Officer (AFSO) under the jurisdiction in which a person is currently residing, procedure for applying for duplicate ration cards can be done.

Following is the Procedure:

  • Collect the D-I form
  • Fill the Form duly
  • The form needs to be verified by the Fair Price Shop (FPS)
  • It is imperative that last withdrawal of ration and ration unit number is indicated by the FPS mentioned on the application form’s top as it is mandatory.
  • After this step, form submission needs to be done at office from where the form was obtained.
  • While submitting application form, it is essential to submit the latest photographs in passport size along with the form. All family members’ photographs are required.
  • After the steps mentioned above are followed religiously, applicant is given a slip.
  • The duplicate ration card can be collected as mentioned in the slip. From the office from where the application form is obtained, the card is issued.
  • It usually takes two weeks in a new ration card issuing.
  • A fees needs to be paid when collecting a ration card in duplicate.
  • The process is thus complete.
