Ration card tops the list of proof of identity and address for any individual. Apart from that this is a mandatory requirement to buy materials at nominal costs from the government assigned ration shops.  In order to receive a new ration card, one can apply on the web itself.

Here are some simple steps to be taken to get a fresh ration card for any applicants:

  • Get the fresh form to be filled up for the new card
  • These forms can be obtained from the Food and Civil Supplies offices
  • Take care to ensure that the form is filled up with perfect precision
  • Ensure that the residence state where you want the ration card is legibly mentioned

Along with the application forms, the applicant’s need to be ready with these ID proof / address proof documents:

  • The applicant’s voter ID
  • Stamp for Rs. 2
  • Proof of residence

For the purpose of proof of residence, the applicants could use either of these:

  • Receipt of tax payment
  • Document of rent agreement
  • Gas bill
  • Bank passbook
  • Electricity bill
  • Telephone bill
  • Letter mailed by post office in your house

The entire list of the said credentials will be presented in the jurisdictional office along with the application.
In case of applicants who already hold a card that is still registered in their old area of residence, but still want a new one in their current residence, here is what they can do:

  • They would be required to surrender the old card and present the surrender certificate
  • In case the applicant moved places owing to marriage, they should present the deletion certificate from the earlier card.
